Right hen, I'd had one too many wines when I decided to treat my nails to this CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Polish Garconne. £30 from Boots for 30g? I was pure sceptical but it's sitting at #6 in nail polish on the site so I gave it a bash.
Tested it proper through a week of pissing Scottish rain, pub shifts and typing like a demon. No fluffy marketing shite, just the truth from your chaotic mate who's used every cheap high street polish going.
Texture and first impressions
The texture is fucking lush, creamy without being gloopy, and it glides on like a dream with that fancy brush. No streaks even with my shaky post-wine hands, covered my nails in one coat and dried quick enough for a Glasgow girl who's always running late.
First impressions hit when I opened it – that classic posh polish smell but not overpowering, and it felt like proper luxury rather than the usual streaky mess from the pound shop. Anti-pretension approved, it just works without trying too hard.
Wear and day-to-day use
Lasted five solid days through drizzle, handwashing at the pub and greasy chippy runs without major chips. By day six the tips showed some wear but that's normal when you're living real UK life, not posing for photos in a studio.
Stood up to my mad routines better than the bargain ones that flake after two days. Didn't yellow my nails either, which is a win after past disasters – perfect if you're out in the weather or just doing normal messy stuff with the girls.
