Texture and first impressions

The texture is rich and creamy without being gloopy, that higher pigment load means the vibrant Pirate shade covers evenly in one or two strokes. The new flat wide brush is a game-changer, made application dead easy even when my hands were still shaky from the night before.

First impressions were pure joy – it glides on smooth and gives this ultra-shiny lacquered finish straight away. Mention of the camellia eco-ceramides sounds fancy but all I know is my nails looked expensive as fuck, not streaky or thin like the supermarket ones.

Wear and day-to-day use

Wore it through a proper UK week of rain, handwashing and bashing at my keyboard – it lasted five solid days with only tiny chips at the edges. Way better than the high street crap that flakes after one trip to the shops, the long-lasting claim isn't total marketing bollocks.

Day to day it kept its shine under pub lights and while chasing the bus. Didn't survive a full-on nail-biting session but for normal chaotic life it held up brilliantly, making me feel a wee bit fancy even when everything else was a mess.

Value and who it suits

At £30 it's steep as hell but you use less and it lasts longer than the cheap ones I replace every fortnight, so it evens out for a treat. Better than wasting fivers on stuff that chips in the Scottish drizzle before you've left the house.

Suits the Glasgow lass who's sick of mediocre nails and wants a proper luxe feel without booking salon appointments every other week. If you celebrate the mess but still want to look like you give a shit, this is your defiant wee luxury.
