Where it comes from

Although the term suede in beauty is now largely used for the finished soft texture, it originally takes its name from the French “gants de Suède” — soft leather finished on the flesh side. Today’s cosmetic suede ingredients are synthetic silicone-based powders or microspheres designed to mimic that ultra-soft tactile quality.
