Lavandin Oil
Lavandin oil is a fragrant essential oil derived from a hybrid lavender plant, widely used in British skincare and haircare for its calming floral scent and gentle cleansing properties. It offers a fresher, slightly camphorous aroma compared with true lavender and is a popular ingredient in natural deodorants, bath products and face mists.
How it works in skincare
In cosmetics and skincare lavandin oil functions primarily as a fragrance and soothing agent. Its light, herbaceous-floral profile helps to mask unpleasant odours while imparting a fresh, clean scent to creams, lotions, shampoos and shower gels. When properly diluted it can also support the skin’s natural balance, leaving it feeling soft and comfortable without greasiness.

Where it comes from
Lavandin oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops of Lavandula × intermedia, a natural hybrid of English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia). The plant is cultivated across the sunny fields of Provence in France and in parts of the UK.
