Chilli Extract
Chilli extract is a warming, stimulating ingredient derived from spicy peppers. In beauty products it is used in tiny amounts to boost circulation and add a pleasant tingle, most commonly in lip plumpers, massage oils and scalp treatments. It gives that signature warming sensation many shoppers look for in “tingle” formulas.
How it works in skincare
In cosmetics and skincare, chilli extract works by gently stimulating the skin’s microcirculation through its natural capsaicin content. This creates a localised warming sensation that can temporarily plump the lips and bring a healthy-looking glow to the skin or scalp. Formulators use highly diluted, standardised versions so the effect is pleasant rather than irritating, making it a popular choice in lip glosses, hair-growth serums and stimulating body creams.
