Right hen, listen. I've fought more bad hair days in this pissing Glasgow rain than hot dinners and usually end up looking like a scared hedgehog. So when this BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Dryer turned up I was ready to slag it off if it was pish. At £29.99 with 4.7 stars from 5013 reviews and sitting at #1 on the site I gave it a proper go on my mad mop.

Fuck me it actually delivers. The 2100W power blasts through drying time like it's got a personal grudge against wet hair. I tested it after a proper soaking on the way back from Tesco and it left me sorted without the usual frizz explosion.

Texture and first impressions

First grab and it's proper lightweight, none of that arm-breaking heavy shite that leaves you aching before you've even started. The rose gold looks a bit fancy but it's no pretentious bollocks, just a solid wee machine with a 2.2m cord that actually reaches where you need it and a hanging loop for my tiny bathroom.

On the hair texture it genuinely tames the chaos. My usual bird's nest comes out smoother and shinier thanks to that ionic tech, no straw feeling or static. Even after Scottish drizzle it doesn't go mental, just healthy-looking without any daft salon promises.

Wear and day-to-day use

Day-to-day this thing is a lifesaver. Three heat settings and two speeds mean I can go gentle on my coloured bits with the lower ones like the merchant tips say, or crank it for my thicker bits. Slap on heat protection spray first and it styles without frying me. Lasts through a full shift and the inevitable rain without going flat.

Took it on a proper windy Glasgow morning after washing and my hair stayed decent all day, no midday frizz meltdown at the bus stop. The fast airflow means I'm out the door in half the time which is pure gold when you're already late for your shift.

Value and who it suits

At £29.99 with a 3-year warranty this is actual value, not the usual Amazon con. Beats the overpriced ones from the big shops that die after six months. It's durable, does what it says on the tin and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. Pure working-class winner.

Suits everyone from fine bleached hair (stick to low heat hen) to my thick textured mess that needs the full 2100W blast. If you're a regular lass battling UK weather and can't be arsed with faff, this is your new best mate.

Verdict

4.5 / 5. This BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Dryer is the real deal. Cuts drying time, controls the frizz and leaves my hair looking like I actually made an effort even when I haven't. Grab it here: BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Dryer - 2100W Professional Ionic Blow Dryer

Not perfect but bloody close for the price. After too many wines and proper testing I'm calling it a winner. The 4.7 stars aren't lying and neither am I.
